Our Wines
We are completely passionate about French wines,
especially after a couple of trips to France. We toured Provence and
Alsace and fell in love with the wines and foods. This has shaped
our vision to make older world
style
wines. Kind of a "new meets old" style - you might say!
Our Estate Grown Pinot Noir and Puget Sound wines reflect those made in
a cooler climate such as Burgundy and the Alsace, while the
wines we make from Eastern Washington grapes are inspired by those
made in the Loire Valley and the Rhone Valley.

2008 Horse Heaven Hills Roussanne – $23 This wine has beautiful straw color, with
pineapple, citrus fruits and herbs on the nose.
A pleasant backbone of acidity leads to a long
concentrated honey finish.
Serve this wine well chilled.
It pairs perfectly with smoked salmon and semi-hard
cheeses such as goat
2006 Rattlesnake Hills
Syrah -
$30
Smoky and spicy on the nose. Deep and dark in color,
this wine is full of plums and dried red fruits, with a long
acidic finish. The Rattlesnake Hills Syrah perfectly
illustrates what a slight elevation gain and low crop levels
can bring to bear in terms of structure and acid.
100% Syrah
Jammy and loaded with red raspberries on the nose.
The candied fruit continues on the palate and evolves into a
long finish. Red Mountain fruit is celebrated for its
luscious ripeness and that's exactly what this wine brings
to the fore.

2005 Yakima Valley Syrah - $28
60% Kiona Vineyards Syrah
40% Portteus Vineyards Syrah
Alcohol = 13.75%
Aged in 100% new French and American oak for 20 months
Unfiltered and unfined
Bottled June 2007
250 cases produced
In 2005 we blended the luscious dense fruit from Red Mountain with the structured and angular fruit from Rattlesnake Hills to produce this delicious and balanced wine. With a fruit forward nose, this Syrah expresses black cherries and berries, with subtle peppery notes. Vanilla notes soften the finish, while still allowing the candied fruit flavors to emerge.

2007 Puget Sound Regent
Regent is a very interesting grape.
This crossing of Diana,
Silvaner x Müller-Thurgau, and the hybrid Chambourcin, was bred in
Germany in 1967 by Professor Gerhardt Alleweldt at the Geilweilerhof
Institute for Grape Breeding.
It is, at present, among the most important new
disease-resistant grape varieties world-wide, especially in German
wine regions. We work with
Ron Nelson in Grapeview, WA at Nelson Family Vineyards where he is
successful in growing an acre of Regent.
Ron has never had to spray
any chemical on his vines (even organic vineyards need to spray).
The wine is light bodied, but
dark in color. Spicy, with
nice fruitiness, it is reminiscent of the Gamay Noir grape from
Beaujolais, France. With soft
tannins and fairly low acidity, it makes a delicious summer red
wine!
2008 Estate Grown Pinot Noir
Rosé
Puget Sound
AVA
Released May 2009
$20 bottle/$240 case
This is the 2nd year release of our
Estate Grown Pinot Noir Rosé. Mother
Nature keeps throwing us curveballs, and we roll with what we get
from her. This Rosé is a
little fuller bodied than last year and deeper in color.
It is characterized by an
almost neon pink color, with a very fruity nose that follows through
in the mouth. Flavors of
rhubarb and strawberries pop on the palate – almost like a
strawberry Jolly Rancher!
Flavors of grapefruit and lemons; low alcohol and very
refreshing when chilled. Drink
